It was at Quaglino’s, in the summer of 1994, that the first Podge lunch was held. Marcelo Minale, Aziz Cami, Brian Webb, Erik Spiekermann and Alan Fletcher were among the 30 guests gathered in Mayfair at the invitation of Podge’s founder, chairman and lifeblood Phil Jones.
21 years later, Podge has grown arms and legs and applied for a passport. Agencies have come and gone. We’ve lost dear friends. Yet the recipe for Podge remains the same: compadres and rivals taking time to share an abiding love of design over good food and good wine.

Monotype’s history is constantly evolving. Whether through meticulously formed type from the 1800s, or the font specially designed to celebrate Podge’s 21st anniversary (and Phil Jones’ apprenticeship as a comp on Ducie Street), Monotype continues to recognise and support the craftsmanship that underpins type design. Our thanks once again for their generous support.
To borrow a modern idiom, it’s fair to say that Microsoft Mobile have never been more ‘all over it’, creating devices and experiences that empower people to look at the world with new eyes, to reach out and take risks, to push themselves, express themselves, share more and grow. We’re delighted to have their support again this year.
If it's modern marketing, advertising, design, direct, digital, opinion, gossip, breaking news, latest wins, big hires, awards and applause in the UK or the US, it's already in The Drum. Thanks to all the lovely folk there for their support.
